June 2020, Saintjohners are ready to face the new normal. Students are still having their online test as their final test before the end of the Academic Year 2019 \u2013 2020. Yet, teachers and staff are taking their shift as a trial for the new normal. As the government extended the period of the large scale social restrictions (LSSR also known as PSBB in Bahasa Indonesia), some staff are still working from home.<\/span>
<\/p>


<\/span><\/p>

Meanwhile some new Junior High School students for the Academic Year 2020 \u2013 2021 had started their bridging classes to enhance their ability in English and Mathematics. The online bridging class was started nicely. Teachers said that most of the students are responsive and interactive. Yet, as they are all new students, teachers need more time to really know them. Conventional classes are actually better to learn the students\u2019 characters and abilities. Hopefully these one week classes could be useful for the new students to prepare themselves to be ready for the new academic year.<\/span>

<\/span><\/p>

Health and safety procedures are being prepared. Soon after the end of the Academic Year 2019 \u2013 2020, there will be the preparation for the new Academic Year 2020 \u2013 2021. All the possibilities and programs whether the school will start continuing the Home Learning Program, or it will be using mixed style to respond the new normal approach are being planned carefully. One thing for sure, the safety for all Saintjohners, especially our students, will be put as the first priority.<\/span>

MENGHADAPI NEW NORMAL<\/span>
<\/p>\n\n

Awal Juni 2020, Saintjohners telah siap menghadapi new normal. Para siswa masih menjalankan ujian akhir daring sebelum mengakhiri tahun ajaran 2019-2020. Namun, para guru dan staff dengan jadwal bergantian, telah menguji coba berbagai percobaan adaptasi new normal. Mengingat pemerintah memperpanjang masa PSBB, maka beberapa staff masih tetap menjalankan tugasnya dari rumah.<\/p>


<\/p>

Unit SMP telah memulai kelas persiapan bagi para siswa baru yang membutuhkan penyesuaian diri dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris dan Matematika dalam bahasa Inggris. Kelas persiapan ini dimulai dengan menyenangkan. Guru-guru mengatakan bahwa para siswa cukup responsif dan interaktif. Namun, karena siswa baru, maka para guru membutuhkan waktu lebih untuk dapat mengenali mereka dengan lebih baik. Kelas konvensional sebenarnya memang memiliki kelebihan untuk mempermudah pembentukan karakter dan mengamati dan meningkatkan kemampuan siswa. Diharapkan kelas pengayaan selama satu minggu ini akan berguna baik bagi siswa maupun bagi gurunya dalam persiapan ke tahun ajaran berikut.<\/p>


<\/p>

Protokol kesehatan dan keselamatan juga dipersiapkan. Segera setalah tahun ajaran 2019-2020 berakhir, akan dilakukan segala persiapan menghadapi tahun ajaran 2020-2021. Segala kemungkinan dan kegiatan diperhitungkan dan dipersiapkan dengan cermat. Bagaimana bila ternyata Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) masih harus dilanjutkan, atau jika harus mengombinasikan beberapa model pengajaran guna merespon pendekatan new normal yang telah direncanakan dengan matang.
