On 6th to 12th May 2019, Nathan Theophilus, a twelfth grader of Saint John’s Catholic School went to Rome, Italy. He was invited by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to join the Global Action Model United Nations (GAMUN) 2019. The event was held in in the World Food Programme headquarters. Two Indonesian high school students were invited, Nathan Theopilus and M. Ammar Sahab from Labschool Rawamangun.
Model of United Nations (MUN) is one of extracurricular offered in Saint John’s Catholic School. Nathan’s consistency in joining MUN Conference gained him a way to Rome. Nathan was grateful for the invitation and said, “It was an eye-opening experience to discuss real world problems with students from Italy, Honduras, and all the other countries who came.”
Meeting with people from other cultures and tried to represent a country in solving world’s problems is a challenge and a very good experience for young students.
