November 27 – Tuesday
Tuesday of the Thirty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel: LK 21:5-11
The Temple was built to honour God and as a place of prayer but there were those who didn't see beyond its surface. When our cathedrals and holy places become tourist sites, they risk becoming, in the eye of Jesus, empty of their true meaning. Let us pray that we may appreciate the reverence and intentions of those who have gone before us even if we also value the beauty of their self-expression.
Jesus recognised that there would be many claims on our attention, many distractions that might lead us astray. We need to have a personal time for a personal prayer to help us see who Jesus is and how do we value his WORD.
Prayer: (all together)
Dear God, please help us not to be led astray by persuasive voices. Amen
