July 30 – Tuesday
Tuesday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel Reading MT 13:36-43

Weeds and wheat all grow together and, at the harvest, are separated. In each of us strengths and weaknesses of personality exist together, as do our goodness and faults. God sees us whole, and looks on the total field.
In the Gospels the prevailing image of God that Jesus reveals is one who accepts our sinfulness and celebrates our goodness, as we see, for example, in his parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32).
In prayer, let’s offer the good to God for strengthening and what is weak for healing and forgiveness.

Prayer: (all together)
Lord Jesus, accept our humble offering of loving kindness to you today and forgive us for our iniquities. Amen
