July 31 – Tuesday

Memorial of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, Priest

Reading 1 – JER 14:7-22

Responsorial Psalm – Ps 79

For the glory of your name, O Lord, deliver us.

Gospel : MT 13:36-43

Explain to us the parable

Reflection:

Jesus uses the image of the field to explain the presence of both good and evil in the world and to illustrate how these forces are manifested at the end of time. The good seed is sown by Jesus, who by his light and love helps us to grow and blossom so that we can yield a good harvest and shine like the sun in the heavenly kingdom.

Prayer:

Dear God, open our heart and that we may be surprised by your grace and mercy and that we may see your children in the faces of all those we meet.
